Ambassador Jusu extends diplomatic outreach to Liberia, Nigeria and Ghana

In a move aimed at fortifying regional partnerships, Sierra Leone’s Ambassador-designate Philip Bob Jusu, over the course of the week,  concluded a series of courtesy calls with his West African counterparts. His engagements included meetings with Liberia’s Ambassador-designate Joseph Levi Demmah, Mme Faith Ugonna Ekwekwuo, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Nigerian High Commission, and Ghanaian High Commissioner Henry Tachie-Menson.

Ambassador Jusu highlighted the importance of these meetings in strengthening unity among the sister nations, expressing gratitude for the warm reception he received. He underscored the deep-rooted connections shared by Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ghana, and Nigeria, underscoring their shared history and collective aspirations for development. “We are one family,” Ambassador Jusu declared, stressing the importance of their joint membership in regional bodies such as the African Union and ECOWAS, and affirming the belief that “together, we are stronger.”

The discussions also revolved around common goals and the necessity of teamwork for the common good. The Ambassadors from Liberia, Nigeria, and Ghana all assured Ambassador Jusu of their missions’ readiness to provide support, emphasising the critical role of collaboration among African nations.

Ambassador Jusu further noted the strong, enduring relationships between Sierra Leone and these countries, highlighting that many Sierra Leoneans consider them a second home due to these close ties.
