Brussels- 15 January- Ambassador Philip Bob Jusu met with the new African Union (AU) Permanent Representative, H.E. Ali Yacoub Mahamoud, on Thursday, 15th January, to synchronise efforts among African missions in Brussels.
The meeting centred on the strength of a unified African voice when engaging with partners. With everyone navigating complex global shifts and evolving international dynamics, Ambassador Jusu underscored the need for a unified African front.
Ambassador Jusu highlighted Sierra Leone’s leadership role, particularly under President Julius Maada Bio’s chairmanship of ECOWAS. He noted that the President’s focus on regional stability provides a solid foundation for African missions to work together. As the current chair of ECOWAS, Sierra Leone remains a primary partner in the AU’s push for security.
Warmly welcoming Ambassador Jusu, Ambassador Mahamoud agreed that close coordination is the most effective way to navigate the current international landscape. He confirmed he is in regular contact with ECOWAS representatives and looks forward to Sierra Leone’s advice on maintaining regional order.
