On Thursday, 21st May-His Excellency Philip Bob Jusu, Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the Kingdom of Belgium and concurrently accredited to the Holy See, formally presented his Letters of Credence to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV during a ceremony at the Apostolic Palace in Vatican City.
Speaking to the Ambassadors of eight countries gathered for the occasion, the Pope offered a reflection on peace and dialogue ahead of Pentecost, calling upon the Holy Spirit to guide the work of the diplomats in their new postings.
The Holy Father’s address carrying both solemnity and urgency, he called for a renewed commitment to dialogue grounded in honesty and clarity of language, noting that only words faithful to reality can dispel misunderstanding. He urged the Ambassadors to make their missions instruments of dialogue, mutual understanding, and peace, and to work in close partnership with the Holy See in building trust between nations.
Ambassador Jusu was accompanied by his family, the Deputy Ambassador Asmaa James, the Head of Chancery Mr Jonathan Las-Lamin and the Information Attache Ms Betty Milton.
