AMBASSADOR JUSU PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE ORGANISATION FOR THE PROHIBITION OF CHEMICAL WEAPONS

Ambassador to Belgium and Permanent Representative to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), His Excellency Philip Bob Jusu, presented his credentials at the OPCW headquarters in The Hague.

The Director-General of the OPCW, Ambassador Fernando Arias, received the credentials and spoke about international cooperation in the face of security threats driven by rapid technological change. He noted that, although multilateral institutions are under increasing scrutiny, the OPCW continues to focus on collective security and the prevention of chemical weapons threats.

Ambassador Jusu, in response, said that all States, regardless of size, have a part to play in supporting peace and security through partnership and shared responsibility. He pledged Sierra Leone’s continued support to the OPCW, offering “our commitment, our partnership, and our collective resolve in support of this important mission.”
