Brussels-14 January 2026- In his first official meeting of 2026, Ambassador Philip Bob Jusu sat down with the OACPS leadership to talk about Sierra Leone’s place in the group. During the conversation at the organisation’s new secretariat, Ambassador Philip Bob Jusu praised the recent changes and fresh energy within the OACPS. He told Secretary-General Moussa S. Batraki that President Bio is firmly in the organisation’s corner.
The Ambassador explained that President Bio does not just want Sierra Leone to be a member; he wants the country be a key player in shaping the organisation’s future. President Bio is especially keen to help the OACPS find a steady path forward, he noted.
Ambassador Batraki called the news “excellent,” adding that Sierra Leone’s early promise of help is a boost for the whole of Africa and the Caribbean. The visit ended with a tour of the new secretariat.
The Ambassador was accompanied by Information Attache Ms Betty Milton and First Secretary Ms Marian Conteh.
