The Sierra Leone Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, Ambassador Philip Bob-Jusu, on Friday, 4th April 2025, took formal leave of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio to commence his tour of duty.
Ambassador Jusu brings a wealth of experience in multilateral, economic, and technology diplomacy, acquired through his previous roles at the United Nations, the African Union (AU), and Google. Notably, he served for eleven years at the AU, including six as Principal Advisor to the Permanent Representative and the Group of African Ambassadors at the AU Mission to the EU in Brussels, providing strategic guidance on socio-economic issues.
Ambassador Jusu thanked HE President Julius Maada Bio, stating that it is an honour for him to be appointed as Ambassador to Brussels.
“I pledge to serve our nation with utmost dedication, to strengthen our ties with the EU, and to advance our shared interests. I will carry your vision and the aspirations of our people with me as I embark on this important mission,” the Sierra Leone Ambassador to Belgium said.
Together with the Ambassadors of France, the United States and the Deputy Ambassador of France, President Bio congratulated the appointees and conveyed his unwavering confidence in their ability to serve the nation with excellence.
“Sierra Leone is open for business, and I have no doubt that each of you will work diligently to strengthen our diplomatic and economic ties with your host nations,” the President said. “You have my full support during your tenure.”
